Chontal (Highland) (chd)

Chontal (Highland) is spoken in Mexico: southern most part of Oaxaca, west of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, in San José Chiltepec and San Lucas Ixcatepec, plus 15 towns. In 1990 there were 3,600 speakers left. Alternative names are Chontal de la Sierra de Oaxaca and Tequistlatec.
