Wambule (wme)

Wambule (Ombule) is a Western Kiranti language spoken by about 5.000 people in the hills of eastern Nepal, the overwhelming majority of them in the south-eastern parts of Okhaldunga district. Some other names by which this language is known from the literature are ‘Chouras’ya’, ‘Chourase’ and ‘Umbule’. The language most closely related to Wambule is the western neighbour Jero.
